Filter system for
selective filtration and
regulation of the sunlight
HelioVital – Filter system
HelioVital is a worldwide unique and modular filter system for selective filtration and regulation of sunlight.
The dermatologically tested HelioVital filter films absorb the harmful UV rays, but let the useful and health-promoting UV rays through. This means, among other things: Tanning and stimulation of natural vitamin D production. The always active and reliable broadband filter with its unique protective complex specifically filters the UV-B, UV-A and IR-A rays which are responsible for the formation of:
- Skin cancer
- Sunburn
- Premature skin ageing
- Sun allergies
- Formation of free radicals
- Overheating und unpleasant prespiration

Scientific studies prove the benefit
Highly effective protection through the HelioVital – filter technology
The commonly known sun protection factor was determined in vivo (on humans) by the University Clinic for Dermatology and Venereology in Graz and the proDERM Institute for Applied Dermatological Research GmbH. The results show a reliable, constant and immediately active protective effect against erythema reactions (sunburn) and this without any side effects. These results enable a new approach to heliotherapy (PDF article: Heliotherapie und Hightech: Altes Wissen in neuem Licht, aus KiM der Ärztezeitschrift für Naturheilverfahren und Regulationsmedizin, Elsevier Verlag)

However, sunburn is not our benchmark for your optimal protection. Our goal is to protect against the causes of sunburn, skin cancer, accelerated skin ageing, allergic reactions and unpleasant perspiration. The observation of individual waves and wave ranges of the solar spectrum helps us to develop the optimal sun protection.
Already in 2009, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Mark Berneburg, Laboratory for Molecular Oncology and Aging, University Dermatology Clinic, Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, a very efficient to highly efficient protective effect was attested:
Study results:
„The different HelioVital filter films protect, depending on their type and transmission spectrum, very efficiently to highly efficiently against mutations of the mitochondrial DNA in skin cells caused by UVA radiation. These mutations are known to play a causal role in skin ageing. In this respect, the results indicate that the films used protect against damage caused by UVA radiation and can be recommended for this purpose.” (PDF article: Wirksamkeit von UV-Filterfolien zum Schutz vor lichtinduzierter Hautalterung, aus KiM der Ärztezeitschrift für Naturheilverfahren und Regulationsmedizin, Elsevier Verlag)
In a current research series at the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital of Regensburg, Prof. Dr. Mark Berneburg and his team are examining the cells of the skin even more closely. The aim of the research series is to determine to what extent the HelioVital filters shield the harmful effects of UV-A rays on skin cells. Molecular markers of skin ageing, carcinogenesis, UV-A induced mutations, various tumour relevant matrix metalloproteases, DNA double and single strand breaks, formation of reactive oxygen species and metabolic changes are investigated in detail. Preliminary results are convincing. The HelioVital filters can significantly reduce the harmful effects of UV-A radiation on skin cells. For example, MMP expression associated with skin ageing and skin cancer formation, reactive oxygen species (ROS / oxidative stress / free radicals) and DNA damage.
