The sun is
The oldest remedy
Sun – The oldest remedy rediscovered
New applications and improved quality of light therapies
The sun provides more than just light and warmth. It is the creative force for all life on earth and is being rediscovered, as the oldest remedy in the world, by modern medicine. The sun prevents, relieves and cures diseases and is bio positive energy for body, mind and soul.
The sun is vital and triggers many vital processes, such as the natural production of vitamin D, NO synthase and other endocrine and neuroendocrine processes, regulates, stimulates and improves physical and mental performance.
Diseases due to vitamin D deficiency are increasing epidemically worldwide, limiting performance and quality of life.
HelioVital selectively filters out special wavelengths of the solar spectrum, which can damage the skin and reduce the desired therapeutic effect. Through this filtering, those wavelengths, which have a positive effect on diseases, can unfold.
Photo- and heliotherapies are used in modern medicine for the causal and accompanying treatment of skin diseases (such as neurodermatitis, psoriasis, vitiligo) and of chronic and mental diseases (such as diabetes, osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, depression, etc.)
However, current therapies have risks such as sunburn (erythema reaction), premature skin aging and carcinogenicity. Photoallergic or phototoxic reactions can also be triggered as side effects. Setting the correct dose is becoming an increasing problem.
Sun protection factor (SPF) and more
By default, the sun protection factor (SPF) indicates the effectiveness of sun protection products. It mainly refers to sunburn (erythema reaction) triggered as protection against UV-B radiation. A red and painful immune reaction to UV-B rays, which have already caused RNA and DNA damage to skin cells.
HelioVital filters these triggering rays before they can hit the skin and thus prevents the development of such inflammatory processes. However, the skin must also be shielded from UV-A radiation and its dose must be significantly reduced, as its high penetration depth and presence can have serious negative effects on skin health (such as the formation of radical oxygen species that cause cellular damage and are relevant to carcinogenesis and skin ageing). HelioVital is currently researching methods to avoid these effects.
Current studies of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Dermatology of the University Hospital Regensburg and the University Skin Clinic Tübingen to examine the protective effect of the HelioVital filter films on skin cells even confirm a highly efficient protective effect of the HelioVital filter film against UV-A induced cell damage, which is relevant in the development of skin cancer and skin aging.
The objective of the research
The aim of our research is to improve the quality of photo- and heliotherapies as well as to expand the range of applications. And this is cheaper, more efficient and with fewer side effects than with conventional therapies
The basis for this is the scientifically confirmed, highly efficient protective effect against the harmful radiation. The previous studies prove that the HelioVital filter films protect against changes that play a role in the development of sunburn, skin cancer, free radicals, inflammatory processes, premature skin aging and allergic reactions. There are also many indications that the “hormesis effect” in particular unfolds its full effect by reducing harmful radiation below the significance limit. HelioVital should be an easy to use application with the advantages of the complex world of medical photonics.
